The Walking Dead

Based around survivors of the zombie apocalypse, The Walking Dead is a monthly black and white comic book. First released in 2003 by Image Comics as Robert Kirkman as creator and writer, with Tony Moore as artist up to issue #7. His replacement being Charlie Adlard, Moore however continued on covers up to issue #24.

 

Compendium Editions and Alternative Media

These are 48-issue paperback editions. The massive volume contains over 1000 pages but includes no cover art.

The Walking Dead has become a huge success covering may different types of media including a television series, videogames, webisode series and different publications like books and novels.

AMC pick up broadcasting rights of the TV show, The Walking Dead, even though it shares the same name alterations to the storyline make it different from its comic origins.

The Walking Dead videogame is developed by Telltale Games delivered in episodic periods season one being a complete success. The Walking Dead 300 Days followed shortly after. Activision have also picked up rights to publish The Walking Dead Survival Instinct.

The webisode series include The Walking Dead: Torn Apart and The Walking Dead: Cold Storage.

Books include The Walking Dead: Rise of the Governor.
